Traverse of Pelvoux (3943 m)

Prominent from the Durance valley, the Mount Pelvoux (3943 m) was long considered as the highest summit of the Ecrins range, before it was discovered that the Barre des Ecrins, hidden in the hart of the range, was the highest one. The traverse of Pelvoux is one the greatest snow climbs of the area. The way up goes up the Coolidge couloir, and after having traversed the glaciar plateau of the summit, we'll go down on the beautiful Violettes glacier to arrive at Ailefroide.
